The Phoenix Single Trunk or Dan Cong hails from the Phoenix Mountain area in Guangdong (Canton) Province of China. These leaves harvested from specific varieties of arbor style tea trees and are processed by themselves - unlike other Teas where the entire picking from all trees on the plantation are mixed and processed together.
Some of these trees are purported to have been pruned to a single trunk from which branching occurs, while others sprout from the ground in a fountain-style, bush-like manor.
Dan Cong Oolongs can have an array of subtle fruity, herbal and floral flavors and a sweet aroma. This tea looks like strips of dark brownish-grey or greenish-black leaves. You should take your time steeping them.
