Puerh Tea originates from the Yunnan Province of China. Just like your favorite Black, Green or Oolong Teas, Puerh Tea is made from Camellia sinensis plant. This difference is in the processing. Puerh tea is post-fermented, that means that the tea leaves go through a microbial fermentation process after they have been dried and rolled, which causes the leaves to darken and change in flavor. The longer the aging process, the stronger the flavor.
